We are a small, family-owned winery in the Finger Lakes wine region of New York State,
dedicated to the craft of fine, classical winemaking; wines that express the unique qualities of the vineyard sites,
the growing season and the winemaker’s seasoned vision.
Taste
Elegant, juicy and balanced, with a beautiful combination of cherries, strawberries and hints of spice. The grapes come from Ravines two estate vineyards on Seneca Lake, the 16 Falls Vineyard (east side) and White Springs Vineyard (west side). It is drinking beautifully now, but will age well over the coming 5 – 12 years.
Dynamic aromatics of asian pear, mango and sweet spices jump from the glass. Quintessential balance is paramount to the this wine’s fresh and vibrant mouthfeel. The acidity is fully integrated for such a young wine, providing verve and staying power on the dry finish.
Textbook, cool-climate chardonnay, although from a warmer vintage than is often found in the Finger Lakes. Intense and aromatic, with meyer lemon, white flowers and hints of nutmeg. The Limestone Vineyard, formerly the White Springs Vineyard, is a unique site with protected slopes and limestone soil.
A beautiful and succulent, dry riesling that shows terrific balance and tension from the integrated acidity. Our flagship wine the showcases the beauty of the Finger Lakes and the undercurrent of limestone running through our soil.
Gorgeously textured and lifted with red fruits, spice, earth and fine-grained tannins. 69% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Merlot (100% estate fruit) from our White Springs and 16 Falls Vineyards on Seneca lake.

Our Story
Ravines Wine Cellars is an artisanal winery in the flourishing, world-class wine region of the Finger Lakes, located in upstate New York.
It is the passion of Morten & Lisa Hallgren, a European Winemaker/Oenologist and his Chef wife. Together, they have created a small, distinctive winery, crafting elegant and expressive wines using Old World winemaking practices.
